Modern Indian Restaurant worth visiting (29 April 2014)
from: Luigi
in: Restaurants / Caterings / Bars/Pubs
I must start by saying that I have had the opportunity to visit some restaurants around the UK, but none gave me the same feeling as Yukti. This small but elegant Indian restaurant always makes me feel like I'm entering a huge, blueberry flavored candy. The combination of modern design and lighting with traditional Indian tapestry is strangely appealing (it's simply not something you would think to associate). The ambiance created is highly interesting and is quite appreciated by Liverpool's mo... read more...

An Unexpectedly Nice Place... (29 April 2014)
from: Luigi

I've always been a fan of haute cuisine since my brother and my grandfather have worked in the business for years, but when I want to have an unpretentious meal with some friends, I generally tend to levitate towards places like Sakara. The people there are sincerely friendly and they want you to have a nice time, the food is hearty, tasty and accessible (even if decisively not "fancy") and the beer flows freely like in some strange, Oriental version of some Irish heaven. I fact, this would be... read more...

Having Fun with the Irish (29 April 2014)
from: Luigi

O'Neills is one of those places where everybody knows everybody despite always being full. The ambiance is great, the employees are friendly and the locals are always cheerful and ready to make a new friend, especially after a drink or two. I only ate a burger and had an Irish stew once, and, despite both being good, I have to admit the Guinness is more of an attraction than the food. In any case, if you enjoy great, lively atmosphere and if you are up for some impromptu riverdancing, then thi... read more...

Great Indian Food in the Heart of London (28 April 2014)
from: Luigi

Tayyabs is one of those venues that combine the design of high end European restaurants with great traditional Indian food. The ambiance is exceptional: relaxing, modern but with subtle stylistic reminders that you are in a restaurant that is specialized in Indian cuisine. I have always loved Indian food, from Bengali dishes to the healthy, vegetable based Tamil Nadu diet, and the chefs of Tayyabs have done an excellent job in reproducing traditional Indian dishes in the heart of London. Nice place for a good Nasi Goreng! (28 April 2014)
from: Luigi
in: Restaurants / Caterings
I first went to this restaurant on a whim. Some of the guys at work were in the mood for some Asian food so someone recommend it as being "small and private". After a series of "that's what she said" jokes (ahh, the pleasure and constant intellectual challenge of being in the company of gentlemen of proper upbringing and refined tastes), we finally decided to visit the restaurant. The service was friendly, but a bit slow, and the general design of the restaurant was unimpressive. The food, on th... read more...

Can I have some more Peanut Butter Panna Cotta, Gov'ner? (28 April 2014)
from: Luigi
in: Restaurants
I went to the Modern Pantry because I had heard about McLeary, the head chef, from a friend of mine that works in the restaurant business. I have to say... I was very impressed! The first thing I fell in love with was the old brick building the restaurant is located in, the contrast between the classic and simple exterior and the modern design of the interior is veryyy interesting and pleasant. But enough about that, let's talk food! I started with a spinach and pea soup, which was lovely, and... read more...
